Design engineering

The senior engineer asked twelve closed questions instead of four hundred open ones

You are pulled into tenders to answer things the datasheet already says. The questions that need you arrive last, unranked, the night before.

Closed questions

"Can ISO 15848-1 class B be offered for the V300 range, with what packing, at what cost and lead-time impact? Closest evidence: certificate FS-2025-118 (class C)." That is a question you can answer in two lines. "Please review the attached 400-line matrix" is not.

Ranked

Blocking items — mandatory requirements with no Comply — first. Price-impacting second. Everything else third. You decide how far down the list to go before the deadline.

Your answers become evidence

An answer that establishes a new capability can be added to the library as a declaration, so the next tender cites it instead of asking you again.
